Dickson won her seat on City Council during the November 2023 election. She arrived in Steamboat Springs in 1995 after graduating from college. Like many, she quickly embraced and fell in love with the strong sense of community, the natural beauty, the rich history and heritage, and the recreational opportunities of the Yampa Valley.
Dickson has dedicated her career to the healthcare field, striving to enhance and promote the health and well-being of individuals and communities. Outside of Council, she is currently employed by the State of Colorado in the Medicaid Department. Before assuming her current role at the state, she served as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of a large non-profit healthcare organization.
She ran for City Council because of a strong commitment and connection to the community. It is crucial that decisions impacting the city today and tomorrow are made with a community-centered approach and reflect community’s values. Her council priorities are founded on dedication to the community and the cultivation of relationships with its members to ensure priorities align.
She met her husband in Steamboat Springs and together they have raised their beautiful daughter here for the past 28 years.
