John Agosta is dedicated to ensuring the community continues to thrive while preserving the values that make it special. His experience on Planning Commission has provided valuable insight into the city’s growth, zoning, and development challenges. He has worked collaboratively with residents and stakeholders and looks forward to applying that same thoughtful, community-first approach citywide.
Before joining city service, Agosta spent my career in the high-tech industry, managing multi-million-dollar projects with companies such as Microsoft, Google, Intel, and Amazon AWS. This experience honed his ability to navigate complex challenges, build consensus, and deliver results—skills that directly support effective, transparent local governance.
With no affiliations with developers, construction firms, or investors, his decisions are guided solely by what benefits Steamboat Springs and its residents. Transparency, accountability, and open communication are the cornerstones of his approach, and he is committed to making decisions that reflect the community’s best interests.
Outside of public service, Agosta enjoys skiing, biking, and fishing to supporting his son on the High School Mountain Bike Team and Winter Sports Club. These experiences reinforce his deep connection to the community and a commitment to keeping Steamboat Springs vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable for generations to come.
