[ARCHIVED] Yampa River Commercial Operation Permits Due Wednesday

All businesses renewing their annual commercial operation permit and for any new operation interested in applying for commercial operations on the Yampa River must do so by February 21, 2018.

Commercial Operation Permits are being reviewed for the upcoming season. All annual operations and requests for new business must contact the Parks & Community Services department by 5:30pm on Wednesday, February 21, with their request.

In addition, each operator will need to submit a detailed business/operating plan for their proposed use. Operating plans should include safety plans, daily numbers, times/areas of use, and demonstrate understanding of commercial guidelines and city planning codes. Operators should be prepared to discuss their plan and answer questions if necessary.

If the request is not made by Feb. 21, your 2018 permitted river operations will not be considered.  For a business that was grandfathered into the plan with specific uses, any new proposed use needs to be approved by the Commission (i.e., SUP, angling, rafting, etc.).

The Commercial Use Guidelines from the Yampa River Management Plan (Appendix B, B-1) are available here and should be reviewed prior to submitting a request.

On March 14, the Parks & Recreation Commission will review all commercial operations permits and requests.  All applying parties should plan to attend the Parks & Recreation meeting should the commission have questions or need additional information.
