[ARCHIVED] Steamboat Springs Police Seek To Identify Burglary Suspect; Reward Offered

At about 7:10 a.m. this morning, the Steamboat Springs Police responded to a burglary that had just occurred at 1124 Yampa Street, the Double Z Bar and B.B.Q. 

The business owner reported encountering the suspect inside the restaurant. The suspect, armed with a crow bar, attempted a false story trying to impersonate a maintenance worker before fleeing on foot toward Little Toots Park. The business owner was not injured. Investigators recovered physical evidence from the scene and are seeking assistance to identify the suspect.

The suspect is described as: approximately twenty-five-year-old Caucasian male, approximately 180-190 pounds, no facial hair, wearing metal frame prescription glasses, a darker color front zip jacket with white embroidery suggestive of a uniform, a beanie-style knit hat, dark color pants-possibly jeans, an approximately six inch long tattoo on his left forearm and a height of approximately 5 feet, 11 inches. 

Routt County Crime Stoppers is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the identification of the burglary suspect.
