If your New Year’s resolution is to be more active, enjoy the outdoors or simply try a new sport, the 27th Annual Steamboat Pentathlon is right up your alley. And if you act by New Year’s Eve, you’ll save a bunch too.
“You don’t have to be an elite athlete to enjoy the Steamboat Pentathlon,” said Emily Hines, Marketing and Special Events coordinator for the City of Steamboat Springs. “It’s a fun and uniquely Steamboat way to enjoy Howelsen Hill with friends and other outdoor winter enthusiasts.”
Individuals and teams are encouraged to register by December 31 to receive special Early Bird registration rates for the 27th Annual Steamboat Pentathlon, schedule for Saturday, March 3, 2018. The savings go even further if you decide to team up as a dynamic duo or team. Registration rates and dates are listed below:

Organized by the City of Steamboat Springs Parks & Community Services department, the Steamboat Pentathlon is a five-stage, multi-sport race that includes: Alpine skiing/snowboarding, snowshoeing, Nordic skiing, mountain biking and running. Participants can register as a Team, Dynamic Duo, or as an Individual, for the short course, totaling nearly 14 miles, or the long course at almost 24 miles.
Besides the fun of challenging yourself, all event participants receive a goodie bag, event t-shirt, free lunch, and a chance to win fantastic raffle prizes from numerous event sponsors. For more information and to register, visit
