[ARCHIVED] Steamboat Springs Police Brew Up October Coffee with a Cop

Hot topics and the perfect cup of coffee come together in a new location to start your day during the next installment of Coffee with a Cop, scheduled for Thursday, October 12.

Members of the Steamboat Springs Police department will be on hand for this edition of Coffee with a Cop from 8am to 10am at MountainBrew (427 Oak Street).  MountainBrew is providing complimentary brewed coffee during the event.  In addition, a Spanish to English translator is expected to be available.

“After two successful events at McDonalds, we’ve moved downtown this time to mix it up a bit and keep it fresh, just like a good cup of coffee,” said Detective Shane Musgrave.  “As these events grow within the community, we’re looking to work with a variety of locations in an effort to reach residents across the city.”

Coffee with a Cop is designed to allow open, two-way dialogue between the community and the Steamboat Springs Police department and its officers. The program allows community members to ask questions and learn about the men and women who serve our community.

The majority of contact law enforcement experiences with the public occurs during emergencies, or emotional situations. As one can understand, those situations are not the most effective time or way to build relationships.

Family owned and operated, MountainBrew is Steamboat's local coffee house & neighborhood café serving the best quality fair trade coffee, pastries baked in house, and fresh affordable breakfast or lunch.
