The City of Steamboat has published the final June 2017 Sales, Use, and Accommodation Tax Report. (See the Full Report.) The June 2017 Mountain Communities Report is also available. (See the Mountain Communities.)
 

The City of Steamboat has published the final June 2017 Sales, Use, and Accommodation Tax Report. City of Steamboat Springs’ June sales taxes are 3.35% more compared to the June 2016 collections or an increase of $62,630 Year to date sales tax collection is 3.68% more than year to date through June 2016.

When comparing this June to the prior June, the greatest categorical increases were in marijuana at 22.63% and liquor stores at 7.82%. Notable increases in collections by area were 21.39% for the Regional area and 14.49% for the West Steamboat area.

Accommodation Tax, with the passing of referendum 2A, is now primarily dedicated to local trail projects and Yampa Street improvements. Additionally, a small amount is dedicated towards the marketing of these projects and capital improvements at Haymaker. June collections saw an increase of 5.31% compared to June 2016.

Building Use Tax is used to fund capital projects for the City of Steamboat Springs. This tax fluctuates depending on building permits issued, use tax audits completed, and the size and number of developments in the City. June 2017 use tax collections are $122,255 more compared to June 2016. Year to date use tax collections are $706,000 more through the same period last year.
