[ARCHIVED] Emerald Mountain Trail Work Day

Routt County Riders and the City of Steamboat Springs will be hosting a trail work day this Saturday, August 19th on Emerald Mountain from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  Construction of the new Abby’s route will finalize restoration of trails that were impacted by the Emerald Mountain Hazardous Tree Mitigation Project.

Abby’s trail has been redesigned to follow a more sustainable route and provide better connectivity with the trail system.  The new route will connect higher off of Hudson Trail, just above the Quarry Mountain Connector, and follow the contours of the landscape to tie back in to Stairway to Heaven and No Mo Bluez at the original intersection.

Please come out and show your support for our local trails.  This is a great opportunity to give back to the community and to enhance the trail network on Emerald Mountain.

Please sign-up in advance on the Routt County Riders website and meet at the Blackmere gate at 8:45 AM: http://routtcountyriders.org/volunteer/. Don’t forget to bring boots, gloves, eye protection and water.

All volunteers will receive a $10 Creekside gift card.

If you cannot make it this week, there will be additional workdays for this project throughout the fall.  Check the Routt County Riders website for more opportunities to volunteer on this project.
