[ARCHIVED] Sign Installation on Spring Creek Trail

The City of Steamboat Springs Open Space and Trails crew will be installing new signs along Spring Creek to remind mountain bikers to slow down on the heavily trafficked, multi-use trail and county road. As downhill bike traffic increases in the area, all users are reminded that this is a shared trail and road with vehicles, pedestrians, bicyclists, and equestrians.

The lower portion of Spring Creek from the parking area at Amethyst, to the start of the singletrack trail at the winter wildlife closure, is a county road that provides vehicle access for local landowners. All trail users need to be aware of the potential to encounter vehicles on the lower portion of Spring Creek at any time. To minimize conflicts, please slow down and remember that all downhill trail traffic must yield to uphill traffic. With all users sharing the trail and road, we can maintain a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
