[ARCHIVED] West Lincoln Park NEW Picnic Pavilion and Play Ground Community Meeting

The City of Steamboat Springs Parks and Community Services Department (PCS) will be hosting a community meeting to discuss budgeted improvements at West Lincoln Park.  The meeting will be held on May 31, 2017 in Olympian Hall at the Howelsen Hill Lodge (845 Howelsen Parkway) from 6 – 7:30 PM.

As part of the 2017 budget, City Council approved $150,000 to construct a new picnic pavilion and playground.  PCS would like to invite all interested parties to come to this meeting to discuss these new amenities and how they relate to the future of the Yampa River Queen.

Due to concerns about safety, outdated and underutilized play features, accessibility and structural concerns of the River Queen, City staff is seeking input on how the community would like to see these improvements move forward.

Additionally, city staff has been working with local youth programs to identify what types of play features kids aged 2-12 years of age like and could possibly be implemented at this new playground.  All interested parties are encouraged to attend.
