The Howelsen Hill Nordic Center will host the 2017 Colorado High School State Skiing Championship welcoming more than 140 of the best high school skiers across Colorado to Steamboat Springs.
As a result of the competition, several Howelsen Hill Nordic trails will be closed on Friday, February 24th to users to ensure Nordic skier safety and to protect trail conditions.
On Friday, Rodeo Loop, Haakan Spar and Bluff Loop trails will be closed to all users from 7:00 AM until 4:30 PM. Hobo Park and the Ballfields will remain open; however, there will be no access to higher elevation trails from the front side of Howelsen Hill.
In addition, an alpine slalom race will be held on Friday, February 24th, and the Face will be closed from approximately 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM.
