[ARCHIVED] Jon Snyder Named Interim Public Works Director

Jon Snyder has been named Interim Public Works Director for the City of Steamboat Springs.  Snyder will officially start his duties on February 5th, temporarily filling the vacancy while a search for a permanent Public Works Director takes place.

“I want to congratulate Jon on his new role and know the city is in good hands during this transition period in public works,” said City Manager Gary Suiter.  “We are fortunately to have an experienced public works department and extensive expertise in house with Jon which allows the city to move forward without interruption and continue to provide a high level of service to residents.”

As Interim Public Works Director, Snyder will oversee one of the city’s largest departments including Airport, Transit, Engineering, Water, Wastewater, Streets and Fleet as well as serve as City Manager Pro-Tem on occasion.

Snyder joined the City of Steamboat Springs in 2005 as Utilities Engineer before being promoted in 2014 to Distribution/Collection System Manager overseeing the Water & Sewer division.  Prior to joining the city, he worked in the private sector as an engineer for 5 years.  A licensed professional engineer, Snyder holds a degree in civil engineering from the University of Colorado.

Snyder steps in for departing Public Works Director, Charles (Chuck) V. Anderson, who recently accepted the Deputy City Manager position with the City of Great Falls, Montana.
