As election time comes around again and you are putting signs out for your favorite person or political party please be aware that, within the City of Steamboat Springs, political signs are not allowed in, on or over public rights-of-way, or any public property. This includes, but is not limited to, parks, sidewalks and bus shelters. Election signs are allowed on private property with the property owner’s permission.

Violations of the sign code may result in fines and/or jail time. If you need help determining what is public property please contact Barb Wheeler, Code Enforcement Officer, Planning & Community Development Department, 970-871-8274 or bwheeler@steamboatsprings.net.
