The City of Steamboat Springs announced today that Stacie Fain has been selected to serve as the City’s new Airport Manager at the Steamboat Springs Airport. Ms. Fain has a Master’s of Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, is currently working on a Ph.D. in Aviation, and is the current Owner/President and Consultant for Ruby Aviation, LLC out of Colorado Springs. Steamboat Springs Public Works Director Chuck Anderson stated “I look forward to having Stacie as part of the Public Works team and working with her to shine the diamond in the rough that is Bob Adams/Steamboat Springs Airport.”
Ms. Fain is an accomplished Aviation and Senior Operations Professional with 23 years of experience in military aviation, program management, and business development in the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, and the commercial environment. She is an FAA Commercial pilot, Unrestricted Naval Aviator, and Certified Flight Instructor with over 2300 accident free hours in various military and civilian aircraft including the HH-60J Helicopter. She is also the proud owner of a 1949 Cessna 170A, and continues to serve in the Coast Guard Reserve as a Commander.
Mr. Anderson said the hiring panel saw applications from across the county and the hiring process was challenging due the high caliber and experience of the applicants, but also added that the decision to hire Ms. Fain was unanimous.
