[ARCHIVED] Yampa Street Construction Update: Week of May 31st

Map Road Closures

Construction of the Yampa Street Improvements Project began May 23 and will continue the week of May 31. There will be no work on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30.

Activities during the week of May 31 will include:

CLOSURE WEEK OF MAY 31: Beginning Tuesday, Yampa Street will be closed to vehicular traffic between 8th and 10th Streets, including public parking within the block closure and the public parking lot next to Backdoor Sports at the 9th Street intersection. When this closure is extended to include the block of 8th to 9th Street, which also includes the intersection at 9th Street, the 10th Street intersection will also remain closed for a few days during the week of May 31 while crews finish work in this area. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the project.

Access to all businesses will be a priority. Signage will continue to be installed during the required closures. For everyone’s safety, visitors, employees and residents are encouraged respect all closures and use the designated detours and parking areas.

Work hours are from 7a.m. to 7p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays. Some weekend work may occur during the month of June and after September 24th.

YAMPA STREET PROGRESS UPDATE: Phase 1 of the Yampa Street Improvements Project construction began in earnest on Monday, May 23, with Duckels Construction initiating the sanitary sewer main line replacement planned between 7th and 10th Streets on Yampa. During this process, sewer service lines need to be located and reconnected. A bypass pump around was installed to avoid sewer service interruption to area users. The manhole at 10th Street was replaced and progress to replace the mainline continues toward 7th Street from west to east.

Work is also ongoing on the private redevelopment site located at 910 Yampa Street. Fox Construction is the general contractor for this project.

PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETINGS: Bi-weekly public information meetings are scheduled for
9:00 a.m. on Fridays, beginning June 3 at Aurum, located at 811 Yampa St.
