The two intersection improvement projects at Walton Creek and Whistler Roads, and at Mt. Werner Road and the eastbound off-ramp from Highway 40 will take place Tuesday, June 30th.
Matt Eggen, City Public Engineer said the project, which will install stop signs in all directions at the intersections, should improve traffic flow and safety at these locations, but urges drivers to exercise extra caution and attention while people adjust to the change. Eggen can be contacted with questions at meggen@steamboatsprings.net or 970-871-8273.
Currently the locations both have free flowing traffic on one street, with stop signs on the intersecting street. During high commuter traffic times, cars can have extensive delays at the stop signs waiting for an opening to turn into traffic.
