[ARCHIVED] Post-Construction Stormwater BMP Inspection & Maintenance Workshop

The Public Works Department is hosting a one day training workshop on inspection and maintenance of post-construction stormwater best management practices (BMPs) on Thursday June 4th from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The workshop will be at Centennial Hall, 124 10th Street in Citizen’s Meeting Room and the cost is $30 per participant.

Stormwater BMPs are not recognizable to most people, but there are many BMPs throughout the City that are designed to protect streams from the impacts of urban stormwater. These BMPs require regular maintenance to ensure they operate properly and to keep them in compliance with the City of Steamboat Springs Community Development Code (CDC).

This workshop, given by the Colorado Stormwater Center at Colorado State University, will teach participants how to identify, inspect, and perform necessary maintenance of BMPs.

Government (City/County/School) maintenance personnel, excavation contractors, engineers, landscape contractors, property managers, homeowners association managers, permanent BMP inspectors, and MS4 managers/coordinators are all encouraged to attend.

For more information and to register, contact Kelly Heaney, the City’s Water Resources Manager at 970-871-8205 or kheaney@steamboatsprings.net.
