[ARCHIVED] Annual Spring Street Cleanup

Weather permitting, from April 1st to May 1st, the City’s Street Division will be sweeping up scoria that remains on the roadways. Residents are asked to help with this collection by raking out any additional scoria from their property, including the R.O.W. and culverts onto the asphalt shoulder of the roads. Any commercial contractors or property management companies who provide this service must remove the materials themselves.

This scoria cleanup is part of the City’s Particulate Matter-10 Air Quality maintenance plan, and residents are asked to cooperate by not using this cleanup for other debris. Branches that have been trimmed or trees that have been cut down, as well as other refuse must be disposed of by the resident or contractor.

A call to the Public Works Shop at 879-1807 will help to schedule additional pickups, if needed. Questions about this service should be directed to Street Superintendent – David Van Winkle or Street Supervisor – Tom Martindale at the Public Works Shop.
