STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-July 27, 2023-City Council will host a special meeting on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, with the Yampa Valley Housing Authority (YVHA) to discuss the draft Brown Ranch Annexation and Fiscal Analysis in an effort to iron out several sticking points.
The Brown Ranch Annexation Committee (BRAC) consists of two councilors, two members of the YVHA Board of Directors, the City Manager, and YVHA Executive Director.
The group has been working since January to develop an agreement to annex 420 acres of Brown Ranch property within the city’s Urban Growth Boundary.
The special Tuesday night session will share presentations on the annexation from YVHA and city staff, conduct public comment starting at 7pm or after presentations whichever comes first and limited to one hour, and followed by a City Council executive session. The meeting will start at 5pm in Citizen’s Hall, located in Centennial Hall, 124 10th Street, and streamed on Zoom like other City Council sessions.
The following week, the BRAC will hold a committee meeting at 9am on Tuesday, August 8, which can be streamed online or attended in person. The session will look at wrapping up outstanding issues, answering lingering questions from the August 1 joint session, and finalizing the agreement.
