[ARCHIVED] 2023 Community Support Funding Request Deadlines Loom

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-September 15, 2022-The City of Steamboat Springs Community Support Funding has provided more than $4.6M over the past decade to qualifying organizations across the Yampa Valley. The first funding application deadline for the upcoming 2023 year is Thursday, September 29, 2022. 

 

Grants“While each coalition has a specific deadline, any organization interested in applying or one that isn’t currently part of a coalition, should submit materials by the earliest deadline,” stated Finance Director Kim Weber. “No one should miss out on these valuable community funds.” 

 

The City of Steamboat Springs City Council allocates several hundreds of thousands of dollars in funds each year to assist community organizations that fall within one of the following allocations coalitions – Arts & CultureEnvironmental and Human Resource. Applications are ranked on a set of criteria by a selection committee with expertise in the coalition focus. 

 

Community Support requests must relate to the following criteria:

  • Activity/program reduces city service requirements; fulfills a city goal; and/or aligns with City Council’s Mission, Vision and Values
  • The grant is not more than 30% of the organization's total budget
  • Organization indicates there is strength/diversity among their other funding sources

This past year $630,000 was directed to support 47 different agencies and organizations serving the community. Grants have varied from $1,000 to $45,000, with most requests falling within the $5,000 to $15,000 range.
