STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-July 8, 2022-A one block closure on Yampa Street between 8th & 9th Streets will take place next week for private utility installation. The closure is scheduled to be in effect from Monday, July 11, through Sunday, July 17; however, work may be completed before the weekend.
Yampa Street traffic in this one block area will be detoured around the work zone up to Lincoln Avenue at the intersections of 8th Street and 9th Street (see map). The remaining stretch of Yampa Street will remain open to vehicles. Pedestrians and bicyclists will see impacts around the closure and should anticipate detours and closures to some sidewalks and bike lanes during the project.
Fones Construction is installing water, sewer and gas for an approved development located on the parcel at 831 Yampa. The construction zone is between the building that houses Big Agnes and the downtown fire station (840 Yampa) and the empty lot across the street (831 Yampa), which backs up to the river, and is adjacent to Wheels Bike Shop and Aurum Restaurant.
