[ARCHIVED] Short-Term Rentals On Docket for Several Meetings

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-April 25, 2022-Over the next several weeks Planning Commission and City Council will consider adopting a Community Development Code text amendment (PL20220134) and a Zone Map amendment (PL20220133) to implement the proposed Short-Term Rental Overlay Zone. 

The proposed amendments would implement recently discussed Short Term Rental policies, add a new Section 238 to the CDC and amend several other sections of the code if adopted. City Council will also be considering amendments to the Municipal Code to adopt Short-Term rental licensing rules and regulations while implementing the Short-Term Rental Overlay Zone. The public has several opportunities to review and comment on the draft amendments: 

  •  Planning Commission Public Hearing Date, Thursday, April 28, 2022, at 5:00 PM
  •  City Council Public Comment Session, Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at 7:00 PM
  •  City Council Public Hearing Date, Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at 5:00 PM
  •  City Council Public Hearing Date, Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 5:00 PM

The draft Community Development Code amendment and Zone Map Amendment have been processed consistent with the Steamboat Springs Community Development Code. The final decision will be made by City Council during a public hearing on the date reflected above.

Individuals can provide comments to Planning staff, Planning Commission, or to all seven city councilors via email or online. All meetings are open to the public and public comment is typically taken per the direction/discretion of the commission/council president.
