[ARCHIVED] Steamboat Olympian Featured In I Am An Athlete Series

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-February 18, 2022-Steamboat Springs Olympian and World Games Gold Medalist Sue White will be featured in an upcoming edition of Special Olympics Colorado’s I Am An Athlete video series.

Special Olympics Colorado is on a journey into the lives of athletes all over the Centennial State in its I Am an Athlete video series. Laugh, cry and smile as you learn how the movement has transformed individuals with intellectual disabilities in Colorado and helped them create meaningful change through sports, health, leadership and more.

On February 24, venture to Colorado's Yampa Valley as the video series dives into the life of Special Olympics Colorado athlete, World Games gold medalist and Steamboat Springs resident, Sue White during this episode. 

Hear how the Steamboat Springs community has embraced Sue's incredible accomplishments and has treated her as just one of the Olympians in this mountain town. 

"Most people don't go through their week without seeing Sue at some point," exclaimed her Special Olympics Colorado coach Tommy Moore. "That smile is hard to miss...you just want to say hi."

The full 9-minute episode featuring Sue White will premiere on Thursday, February 24. The Special Olympics Colorado video series is made possible by Canvas Credit Union. In addition to White’s story, hear the stories of Special Olympians from around the state and learn what you can do to make a difference in the lives of fellow Coloradoans.
