November 10, 6;15AM - As a result of the repairs, area residents may encounter brown/rusty colored water. The color is due to iron sediment that was kicked up into the water because of the break. Although, it looks unpleasant, the water is safe to drink. To clear the line, residents should run cold water from a bathtub faucet for 10-15 minutes, if the water does not clear up after 10-15 minutes then stop running the water, wait about an hour and then try flushing again for 10-15 minutes.
November 9, 11:00PM - The crew has uncovered the main break and are in the process of repairing the pipe which should be complete in about two hours. Once the repair is complete, water service will be fully restored and the crew will backfill the hole in Saratoga Avenue. The city will need to return to the site on Wednesday to finish cleaning up the site.
November 9, 8:00PM - Crews are currently digging the main break, but because of the location of the water main both lanes on Saratoga between Gilpin and Pitkin will be closed for the duration of the repair.
