STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colorado– As part of its commitment to provide safe, reliable natural gas service to customers, Xcel Energy crews will replace the natural gas line across U.S. Highway 40 at Anglers Drive. Construction begins the evening of Monday, May 24, 2021.

This project will be completed as part of our commitment to system revitalization and will support system resiliency during cold weather events.

Crews will work nightly from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. through the evening of Friday, June 4 to minimize traffic inconveniences.

Construction will take place along Anglers Drive to cross Highway 40 to install the natural gas line across the highway.

Access to locations will be maintained, but short-term closures may be needed for the safety of the public and our crews. Traffic control measures, including lane shifts, will be in place. Reduced speed limits will be enforced in construction work areas. Traffic flaggers will help direct traffic through the construction area.

The public can visit, call the construction hotline at

970-206-4203 or email with questions or for additional information.
