[ARCHIVED] City Hall Shifts to Morning Hours

City Hall AM NewsFlash

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-May 14, 2021-The city will be shifting its public hours at City Hall and Planning across the street in Centennial Hall to the morning starting on Monday, May 17 to better serve the community.

“Our goal remains to get back to normal as soon as possible for City Hall,” said City Manager Gary Suiter. “The majority of city facilities have returned to normal operations; however, like many local businesses, we’re facing an employee shortage for many citizen service positions.”

City offices including City Hall and Planning across the street in Centennial Hall, will operate Monday through Thursday from 7:30am to 12:30pm instead of being open in the afternoon. City Hall will remain closed on Friday. Municipal Court has also returned to in-person sessions holding court on the first and third Wednesday of the month.

“The clerk staff has been pulling double duty by staffing the front desk along with their traditional responsibilities,” commented Deputy City Manager Tom Leeson. “We believe moving to the morning better serves citizens and permits clerk staff to meet council, board and commission meeting obligations.”

The box outside the main entrance to City Hall continues to provide a secure means to drop off payments and documents outside these hours. All online channels remain available to citizens and city staff remains available by phone and email.

City Council moved to a hybrid meeting format with a mix of councilors in-person in Citizen’s Hall and others attending virtually earlier this month. Council plans to resume full in-person sessions starting with the June1 meeting.

Citizens can continue to participate in council meetings virtually via Zoom. All meetings for City Council, Planning Commission and Parks & Recreation Commission can be viewed on the city’s website and YouTube Channel
