[ARCHIVED] Intersection Improvements Start May 18

US40-Emerald Closure NewsFlash

US40-EmeraldParkIntersection_ClosureAreaSTEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-May 15, 2020-The City of Steamboat Springs will begin road work on US Highway 40 at the Emerald Park intersection starting early next week.

A one lane closure on US40 in each direction will be in effect starting Monday, May 18 as early as 7am. The closure will run through the end of the month, currently scheduled to be completed around Friday, May 29.

The project will consist of improvements to the center median that will increase safety at the intersection. Previously, a left-hand turn lane on US40 westbound was constructed as part of the Emerald Access project.

The current project will add supplementary curb enhancements to minimize illegal movements by vehicles in this high-volume area.
