[ARCHIVED] Commercial River Operation Permits Reviews Forthcoming

Commercial Operators NewsFlash

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-February 17, 2020-The Parks & Recreation Commission will review new requests for business on the Yampa River through the city for 2020 as well as proposed use changes for current outfitters during the March 11, 2020 meeting.

New businesses interested in commercial operations on the Yampa River must apply for a commercial use permit by 5:30pm on Friday, February 28, 2020

The business is required to submit a detailed business/operating plan for proposed use, which should include safety plans, daily numbers, times/areas of use, and demonstrate understanding of commercial guidelines and Planning codes. Refer to the Commercial Use Guidelines before submitting application.

Businesses currently approved to operate under the Yampa River Management Plan for a specific use by the commission are not required to resubmit; however, proposed use changes (i.e., SUP, angling, rafting, etc.) will need to be approved by the commission

Applications, either new or change of use, not submitted by February 28 will not be considered. Please reach out to Parks & Recreation staff with questions.

The Parks & Recreation Commission meeting will take place on March 11 at 5:30 pm in Centennial Hall. Operators should be prepared to discuss their plan and answer questions from the commission if necessary.
