[ARCHIVED] New Dates and Times for Sex Offender Registrations

SSP News Graphic 2019

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-January 23, 2020-In order to streamline the procedures for sex offender registration, the Steamboat Springs Police Department (SSPD) is designating specific dates and times for sex offender registrations as well as re-registering.

Starting February 1, all registrations and re-registrations will take place on Tuesdays between 8:00am and 2:00pm, or on Thursdays between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm with the SSPD at the Combined Law Enforcement Facility, 2027 Shield Drive, Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

The cost associated with registration remains the same with initial registrations set at $75 and re-registrations at $25.

A SSPD detective will be available during the established time frames to complete the registration/re-registration process. Currently, this duty is assigned to Detective Jordan Cyphers.

Monitoring of registered offenders will occur periodically, at a minimum of once annually, to verify that a registrant remains in compliance with registration requirements after the initial registration.  Following a registrant’s first registration with the SSPD, the residence verification shall occur as soon as possible.
