Two months into their new home, the Steamboat Springs Police Department is percolating a specialty Coffee with a Cop event in the Community Room at the Combined Law Enforcement Facility (CLEF) this Wednesday, September 18, at 10am.
“The days are getting shorter and fall is in the air; however, we all still need that good cup of coffee to get these brisk mornings started off right,” said Police Commander Annette Dopplick. “So much has gone on over the past few months, so we decided to host a pop-up style coffee event before more time has passed.”
Steamboat Springs Police Officers will be on hand for this full caffeine paced espresso pop-up edition of Coffee with a Cop from 10am to 11am at the Combined Law Enforcement Facility (2027 Shield Drive). During Coffee with a Cop @ the CLEF, enjoy interacting with officers from the day and night shifts while savoring a freshly brewed cup of coffee and tasty treats.
This pop-up Coffee with a Cop event is based on the police department’s daily briefing meetings, which allows face to face interaction, sharing information and checking in with each other in a compressed time frame. The full strength version of Coffee with a Cop will be back in the coming months at a participating coffee shop.
Coffee with a Cop is designed to allow open, two-way dialogue between the community and the Steamboat Springs Police department and its officers. The program allows community members to ask questions and learn about the men and women who serve our community.
The majority of contact law enforcement experiences with the public occurs during emergencies, or emotional situations. As one can understand, those situations are not the most effective time or way to build relationships.
