[ARCHIVED] 11th St. Sidewalk & Streetscape Improvements Start Next Week

11 Street NewsFlash

The City of Steamboat Springs and Native Excavating expect to begin construction of sidewalk and streetscape improvements on the southwest side of 11th Street, between Lincoln Ave and Yampa Street, the week of May 13.

The project improvements consist of the construction of a concrete sidewalk, street trees, and pedestrian lighting. Storm sewer enhancements will bring a new storm sewer inlet along with new curb and gutter to mitigate drainage issues.

11th Street Construction Update

The reconstruction of the sidewalk will be in conformance with the downtown design guidelines which will provide better pedestrian mobility and atmosphere to the 11th Street corridor.

The city project will take place while two other private construction projects are also going on within the adjacent area at the Lockhart property and Steamboat Whiskey. Due to these three project occurring at the same time, there will be multiple closures, including temporary alley and road closures, through the duration of the project, which will impact the traveling public in this area. The closures will reopen at the end of each day.

The project is being constructed during the spring months in an effort to reduce the impacts to adjacent businesses and is expected to last until mid-June. Funded by the City of Steamboat Springs, the overall improvements to 11th Street are anticipated to cost around $60,000.
