[ARCHIVED] Amethyst Drive Water Break Repaired

Amethyst NewsFlash

The water line break which occurred this morning along Amethyst Drive between Maple Street and Fish Creek Falls has been repaired and crews are finishing up work in the area. The road remains CLOSED but is anticipated to reopen around 5pm this evening.

“We understand this is a high-traveled street and we appreciate everyone who respected the closure which assisted crews in being able to quickly finding the break and implementing repairs,” said Water Manager Michelle Carr. “We apologize for the disruption and appreciate everyone’s patience.”

Water to the neighborhoods of Steamboat Pointe and a portion of Willett Heights along Amethyst has been restored.  This service was shut off earlier this morning as a result of the break. A hole about a quarter-inch in size, similar to the size of a pencil, caused the break in the line.

If households in the affect area experience dirty water, run a bath tub faucet for several minutes and the water should clear up.
