[ARCHIVED] Amethyst Drive Water Break Causes Closures

Amethyst NewsFlash

A water main break has occurred along Amethyst Drive resulting in the closure of the road between Fish Creek Falls and Maple Street for most of the day as repairs are implemented.  In addition, water will be shut off to the neighborhoods of Steamboat Pointe and a portion of Willett Heights along Amethyst while work is underway.

Amethyst Drive will shut down around 9am this morning after the initial morning school drop off. Please plan on alternative routes in the afternoon if you are accessing Strawberry Park Elementary and Middle Schools. The school bus which normally drops students off in the afternoon along Amethyst will be permitted along its normal route. All other buses which utilize Amethyst will detour around the impacted area.

City crews are on site and working to repair the break and return service to the affected areas as soon as possible. Work is anticipated to last most of the day with Amethyst Drive remaining closed to thru-traffic throughout the duration of the repair. Please use alternative routes and follow detour signage.
