[ARCHIVED] Seasonal Bike Racks Collected For Winter

Bike Racks Newsflash

The city will begin collecting seasonal bike racks in or near city parks as well as along Lincoln Avenue and Yampa Street in advance of the winter season.

In an effort to eliminate damage due to snow and snow removal operations, the city gathers many of its bike racks every fall and stores the equipment until early spring. The process is anticipated to start on Thursday, November 1, and should be concluded by Friday afternoon on November 2.

Prior to the annual project, crews will be posting yellow signs to bike racks that will be collected. All bicycles should be removed from these racks prior to Thursday, including any bike left overnight from Halloween festivities. Bikes that remain locked after that time, will be removed and taken to Steamboat Springs Police.
