[ARCHIVED] Shine N' Show Impacts Yampa Street

Corvette

An American legend, the Chevrolet Corvette, will turn plenty of heads and revs up the weekend in Steamboat Springs when Vettes on the Rockies rumbles into town for its national event from Thursday, August 23 through Sunday, August 26.

The multi-day event starts Thursday afternoon at the Steamboat Grand Hotel. The ‘Funkana’, a slower speed driving event on a tight course with special tasks to complete along the way, puts car and driver to the test on Friday morning in the Meadows parking lot.

The main event will be the Show N’ Shine on Yampa Street from 10am to 1pm on Saturday, August 25, which  showcases participating Corvettes and what makes this American sports car such a classic.

Yampa Street will be closed from 7th to 12th Streets and to the alley from 10th to 12th Streets starting at 6am and running through 2pm for the Shine N’ Show.

The Shine N’ Show is free and open to the public and coincides with Mainstreet Steamboat’s Farmer’s Market, which also takes place on Saturday morning on 7th, 6th and Yampa Streets until 2pm.

This year not only marks the 65th anniversary of the Corvette, it’s also highlights the club’s 45th anniversary and is the driving force for the national celebration in Steamboat Springs. Additional details on Vettes on the Rockies can be found at www.steamboatchamber.com.
