2A Open House

The City of Steamboat Springs 2A Trails Steering Committee will host a 2A Trails Open House on Wednesday, May 30. The Open House will take place at Centennial Hall (124 10th Street) and will outline the accomplishments of the 2A Trails Initiative, as well as the future of trails in Steamboat Springs centered on the 2A community efforts. The event runs from 5PM to 7PM and local U.S. Forest Service, City of Steamboat Springs and Trail Maintenance Endowment Fund staff will be in attendance.

The two-hour event will feature information tables and discussion/Q&A on the following areas:

  • Completed Construction Projects
  • Completed Planning Projects
  • 2018 Construction Projects
  • 2018 Planning Projects
  • Trail Maintenance Endowment Fund
  • Wildlife Habitat Improvement Local District Fund

In November of 2013, the voters of Steamboat Springs approved a portion of the municipal accommodations tax to develop trails, dedicating $5.1 million dollars over 10 years to be invested in trail infrastructure across Steamboat Springs. A committee, made up of Steamboat Springs’ residents, is prioritizing the expenditures of this investment. Projects will aim to fulfill the original ballot language and dollars will be leveraged through grants and partnerships whenever possible.
