[ARCHIVED] Steamboat Springs Police Brew Up Spring Coffee with a Cop

The spring installment of Coffee with a Cop, scheduled for Friday, March 23, brews up strong conversation and the perfect cup of coffee, right in the heart of downtown Steamboat Springs.

Members of the Steamboat Springs Police will be on hand for the spring edition of Coffee with a Cop from 8am to 10am at Off The Beaten Path (68 9th Street).  Off The Beaten Path is providing complimentary brewed coffee during the event.  In addition, a Spanish to English translator is expected to be available.

“The days are getting longer and spring is in the air; however, we all still need that good cup of coffee to get these brisk mornings started off right,” said Detective Shane Musgrave.  “We couldn’t think of a better way to get the day going and kick off spring than spending the morning with residents of our city and getting to know each other better.”

Coffee with a Cop is designed to allow open, two-way dialogue between the community and the Steamboat Springs Police department and its officers. The program allows community members to ask questions and learn about the men and women who serve our community.

The majority of contact law enforcement experiences with the public occurs during emergencies, or emotional situations. As one can understand, those situations are not the most effective time or way to build relationships.

Off the Beaten Path Bookstore first opened its doors in 1990 in the heart of downtown Steamboat Springs. Off the Beaten Path is Steamboat’s largest full-service bookstore and the local’s favorite meeting place for Good Books, Good Coffee, and Good Friends.   The store, on 9th Street in historic downtown Steamboat Springs, is open seven days a week.
