STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-September 22, 2025-You know it’s fall when the scent of pumpkin spice fills the air and soon so will crews from SavATree during the annual fall installation of the signature seasonal lights in the trees on both sides of the main downtown throughfare, Lincoln Avenue/US40.
Mainstreet Steamboat manages the seasonal lights through funding from the city along Lincoln Avenue and has contracted with SavATree to install the lights along both sides of the avenue.
SavATree will be trimming trees and installing lighting on Lincoln Ave/US40 between 3rd and 12th Streets from September 22 to 30. To help minimize commuter traffic impacts, work will take place between 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM. No work will take place during the weekend.
Only one side of the street will be closed at a time, but cones will be placed in advance to block off parking prior to crews getting to that section.
Right-hand travel lane closures will take place but will also be limited to the specific block that the work is being performed. In addition, sidewalks may be closed on the blocks where crews will be trimming while work is occurring.
The lights are replaced annually to maintain tree health. SavATree donates a third of the installation cost as a gift to the community.
Steamboat Springs Transit operations will continue as normal during the lane closures.
