STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-March 8, 2024-The Steamboat Springs Mountain Town Bonspiel brings teams from across the mountain region to town when the Howelsen Ice Arena hosts the Steamboat Spring-Spiel curling tournament over two days in April.
“The ice will heat up when the rink hosts its first bonspiel curling tournament next month,” said Howelsen Ice Arena Recreation Supervisor Nick Carelli. “We’re excited to showcase the ice arena and have curlers from across Colorado come to town for the spring-spiel.”
The event will see teams guaranteed four curling games with cash prizes for 1st and 2nd place. Registration for the Steamboat Spring-spiel is $500/team. The tournament runs over Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13, 2024. The Howelsen Ice Arena features five curling sheets within the 20,000-square-foot Olympic size sheet of ice.
Teams will enjoy plenty of local food and drinks in addition to numerous prize giveaways and recreation deals throughout the tournament. An ample spectator area allows teams to sit back and enjoy matches when not competing.
