Youth Hockey

Steamboat Springs Youth Hockey Association

The Steamboat Springs Youth Hockey Association (SSYHA) has programming for boys and girls ages 4-19 years old.

The SSYHA coaching staff is composed of knowledgeable, passionate individuals that have extensive backgrounds in the hockey and education worlds.  Feel free to take a look at our coaching staff page on the SSYHA website and contact our director, Ryan Dingle if you have any questions.

Intro to Hockey

Steamboat Springs Youth Hockey Association programming at Howelsen Ice Arena begins with the Intro to Hockey program, where the youth of Steamboat can try out hockey for the first time.  There are three sessions of Intro to Hockey each year and the first session is 100% free, while the second and third sessions are provided for a small fee.  Equipment is provided to all participants during all three sessions, free of charge.  For more information or to sign up for an upcoming session, visit our Intro to Hockey page.

Full Season SSYHA Programming

Once skaters know that they would like to join the full season programming, SSYHA can help you and your child transition to a full season team.  There are currently 11 different teams that range for 6U to 19U.  These teams practice 2-3 days per week and have games on weekends throughout the state (mostly in the mountains)!
