Land Use Code Complaints

Land use and building grievances (not criminal complaints) can now be submitted electronically through CityView to Code Enforcement. For example, use violations along with any building/construction issue can be reported online through the system.

Short-Term Rentals Enforcement


To report an issue or submit a complaint regarding a Short-Term Rental (STR), call the Complaint Hotline (970-788-3344) or complete an online form, located on the STR Enforcement page.

Sign Code

The Sign Code is enforced by the City Code Enforcement Officer. You may submit a complaint through the CityView Portal homepage. Learn more on the Sign Code page.

Prohibited sign types

The following signs are not allowed in the city:

  • Feather flags
  • Off-premises signs
  • Blinking, Flashing, Animated, moving, reflective, or other similar signs
  • Inflatable Signs
  • Affixing signs to public buildings or structures including bus stops, poles, benches, electrical structures
  • Signs in the roads or Right-of-way without a Revocable License

Noxious Weeds


Noxious weeds are invasive plants that are not native to Colorado. They pose a serious threat to native plant populations, agriculture, wildlife, recreation and property values.
