That’s the theme for the 12th annual ReTree community tree planting event on October 2. With another hot and dry summer, we saw a recreational closure of the Yampa River beginning in July and continuing through the summer. Increasing tree cover in the riparian zone of the river is one of the best actions we can take to reduce water temperature. And, fast-growing cottonwoods also sequester carbon and improve wildlife habitat. So come join us for a fun volunteer day that is also an important climate action strategy for the Yampa Valley.
