The City of Steamboat Springs is seeking the public’s assistance with information on two incidents concerning graffiti at the Bear River Skate Park in the past month.
The first incident occurred on July 29 and included graffiti sprayed in red paint in several locations across the cement structure. The second occurrence, which was much more extensive, took place on August 13. This time, blue and silver paint was used and the damage was not limited to the skate ramps but included the surrounding utilities-related property.
Clean-up has taken considerable time to remove the paint and the city has received assistance from skaters who use the facility. “We’re hoping with the popularity of the park and the number of people that use it; someone will have seen something that will help us,” said Craig Robinson, Parks, Open Space and Trails Manager.
