[ARCHIVED] Yampa and Oak Street Construction Projects - Week of November 21st

YAMPA STREET UPDATE:

CLOSURE UPDATE:  Yampa Street remains closed to vehicular traffic at the 7th Street intersection.  Streetscape work on the south side of Yampa Street at the 7th Street intersection is being completed this week. Yampa Street is projected to open to traffic on Wednesday, November 23.  Upon opening of the street, the City asks that motorists take note that stop signs at the 7th Street intersection are now present on all approaches.  Over the next few weeks, intermittant shoulder closures will be necessary in isolated areas along the entire stretch of Yampa Street to complete work associated with utility undergrounding.  Please take note of the cone zone and please drive in a manner appropriate for conditions.

When electric service is converted to the underground system and the overhead electric and fiber optic lines can be removed, street lights along Yampa Street will be installed.  Traffic control devices will remain in place to protect pole bases until street lights can be installed.

PROGRESS UPDATE: Duckels Construction has completed concrete and streetscape work on the north and south sides between 6th and 8th streets including sidewalk, landscaping, and street light pole bases. Paving operations are also complete. Yampa Valley Electric and Comcast have commenced work to pull wires in the new underground conduit system and are actively converting services to the new system.

PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETINGS: The final public information meeting for 2016 is scheduled for December 2nd at Aurum Food & Wine, 811 Yampa St.
