[ARCHIVED] New School Resource Officer with the Police Department

Officer Blake Ingerick

The City’s Police Department has recently assigned Officer Blake Ingerick to act as the new School Resource Officer.

Officer Ingerick will be working primarily in the High School but also available to other schools within the City limits as needed. Beyond helping the school district to investigate crimes and maintain safety within the schools, one of the primary goals of the School Resource Officer will be to build trust and confidence between the Police Department and the students, parents, teachers and staff of the schools.

Officer Ingerick said it has been one of his primary goals since entering law enforcement to be a School Resource Officer and he is looking forward to partnering with the schools and to the positive impacts he can have on our youth. Part of his job duties will be helping to identify problems that relate to safety, disorder and crime and help to implement solutions to solve these problems. The Officer will work as a liaison between the Police Department and the Steamboat Springs School District and work closely with the principals to further safety concepts.

During the summer months, Officer Ingerick will work in the Patrol Division to handle general calls for service.
