Schedule your inspections NOW before November 1st! If you anticipate needing permanent power, a certificate of occupancy (CO) or water and/or sewer service during the winter months, schedule your project so that the grading and drainage improvements and utility installations are complete and inspected before November 1. Don’t get caught by the snow – it’s coming!
To schedule a Right-of-Way Inspection call Public Works Engineering Division at 871-8273. Please provide your name, site address and building permit number. Inspections are not conducted between November 1st and April 1st due to snow restricting visibility of site improvements.
To schedule a Water and/or Sewer Inspection call Public Works Utilities Division at 871-8211. No water and/or sewer work can be performed in the right-of-way from November 1st – May 1st without a variance.
To apply for an Excavation Permit (ROW permit) call Public Works Streets Division 879-1807. In order to protect the City's infrastructure from damage over the winter months, excavation in the public right-of-way is prohibited from November 1st – May 1st. You will need a variance approved by the Public Works Director if you must excavate in the right-of-way during snow season.
Also don’t forget that all construction dumpsters, port-o-johns, material piles, etc. should be out of the right-of-way prior to November 1st!
