The Routt County Sheriff’s Office And Routt County Crime Stoppers Are Asking For Your Help With A Suspicious Incident Which Occurred On October 28, 2014 At About 9:30 A.M. A Female Was Pulled Over By A “Champagne” Colored Suv Which Displayed Red/Blue Grill Lights, On Routt County Road 44 Just After Exiting Us Hwy 40. A Male Subject Contacted The Female Driver. He Indicated That Her Vehicle Was Stolen. It Is Believed That This Unknown White Male Was Impersonating A Police Officer, As He Did Not Produce Any Identification Nor Did He Utilize A Police Radio During The Contact. The Unknown White Male Subject Is Described As Being 5’8 Tall Weighing Between 150- 170 Pounds, With Short Dark Hair, Age Estimated At Late 20’s To Early 30’s.
