STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-May 11, 2023-Haymaker Golf Course welcomes golfers for the new season of play on Thursday, May 25, when the 18-Hole Championship Golf Course opens for its 26th year.
“Haymaker is one of the best public golf courses in the state, and the entire staff is looking forward to a new season of providing the high level of service that we’re known for,” said Head Golf Professional Cody Hasten. “After last year’s record season, we are not sitting back but have new improvements and features in store for the coming season that will make the experience better.”
The family friendly practice facility is scheduled to open the week before the course on Wednesday, May 17, from 9am to 6pm and features the driving range, sand trap, chipping and putting green.
The driving range underwent a major expansion a year ago that brought 20 new hitting stations with improved sight lines. The redesigned layout created an improved capacity for clinics and instruction. Players shouldn’t forget about The Fringe Simulator as another means to get in season shape.
Roughly a week later and ahead of the holiday weekend, the starter will call the first group to the tee starting at 7:30am on Thursday, May 25. Online reservations are currently available for advance booking. Daily rates, season passes, and punch card pricing is available at haymakergolf.com. The golf shop will be open from 6am-7pm daily starting May 25.
“In addition to the new amenities on the course last year, the clubhouse will see new furniture (later this summer), additional television monitors, and reconfigured indoor seating with a large community and high-top tables. The Pro Shop will carry a new line of Ralph Lauren polo shirts and a dedicated line of youth apparel.
The week following opening day, June 1-7, will be Local’s Week. Designed for locals, the week includes a kick-off celebration and daily golf specials including green fees, free instruction, blow-out merchandizing sale, all-day happy hour and more. Watch for more details in the coming weeks.
Proudly owned by the City of Steamboat Springs, the 233-acre championship golf course features at least four sets of tees per hole, playing from 5,059 to 7,308 yards. Heralded as a ‘core layout’ using large greens and gentle undulations, Haymaker blend seamlessly with the topography of the region. The course, which enjoys uninterrupted vistas of the Yampa Valley on every hole, lends itself to golfers of all abilities from the novice to the professional.
