Council Percolates Spring Edition of Coffee with Council

Coffee with Council 2 NewsFlash

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-March 13, 2023-City Council has blended a new batch of Coffee with Council running over the spring months to continue discussion around hot topics facing the community. Coffee with Council runs until council moves to their summer booth at MainStreet Steamboat’s Famers Market.

There is nothing decaffeinated about the program that looks to gain insights on topics covered during that month’s work session. Coffee with Council is slated for March 16, April 6, May 4, and June 8. The open conversational sessions run from 7:30am to 8:30am and the March 16 brew will be hosted in the Carver Conference Room of Centennial Hall, 124 10th Street.

The first cup will be poured at 7:30am on Thursday, March 16 and seeks input on the recent conversation around the Climate Action Plan and Business Licensing. The program is refilled in April when Affordable Housing Strategies I permeate the session.

Council will blend four topics in May including Affordable Housing Strategies II, SST Winter Service, Recycling Drop Off Site and Council Salary and Benefits. The June session heats up with a triple shot around Fire Mitigation/Resilience, the new Civic Plaza Design, and Accommodation Tax Repurposing.

First started in 2013, the goal of Coffee with Council is to provide an opportunity for community members to meet with city council members in a relaxed atmosphere and discuss current issues.  The success of this program is the open discussion and that while not everyone always agrees, the group is able to discuss these important issues together and in a respectable way.

No RSVP is necessary, community members are welcome to drop in. Coffee and light refreshments will be provided.
