Starting this Saturday, June 15, the Steamboat Springs City Council returns for the fourth season hosting a booth at the Steamboat Farmers Market.
“Over the past four years, the council booth has evolved into a popular way for residents to interact with council members in a relaxed atmosphere,” said City Manager Gary Suiter. “This council has focused on connecting with the community and promoting an open dialogue on topics that we face together.”
Available council members are on hand at the City Council booth from 9am to 11am every Saturday running from June 15 through August 31. The Council Booth, #48, is located in the same spot as previous years on Yampa Street, closer to 6th Street.
During the season, special guests, ranging from city staff to elected officials and organizations, will join council on select Saturdays as an added way for the community to connect and learn about their city.
The City Council Farmers Market Booth is just one way councilors are working to engage with the community. It joins other outreach programs like Council Columns in the Steamboat Pilot & Today and Valley Voice and the monthly City Limits Radio Show.
The 2019 Main Street Steamboat Farmers Market, located on 7th and Yampa Streets and the 7th Street parking lot, is held on Saturdays from June 15 to September 21 from 9am to 2 pm. The Market showcases local and regional produce, baked goods, products and homemade items along with live music and is the perfect way to start off your Saturday morning.
